FUNNEL CAKE PARTY - YUMMO

This party came about because Nell had never had funnel cake so Donna hosted the first party in Peace River.  The word got around and others who never had funnel cake BEGGED Nell to do a second party in Orlando.  Here we are with 4 personal induction cook tops frying up the cakes to about 20 or more.

Last Call for Funnel Cake....... Guess we'll be doing this again in Chesapeake the way it sounds..Jerry and Sally couldn't be here - but they will be in Va...  

Pickleball Courts at Orlando Thousand Trails

The tennis court on the left will stay as is; but here are the 2 new courts on the other tennis court which is no more.   The holes are in place for the poles to be put in....Thanks to Earl and his team for doing all this work.  It really looks nice.. They do need more paint to finish but have been told that will be coming also.   Soon there will be 3 courts to play on instead of 2!

Keith's request was for a COCONUT CAKE...So that's what I made!!yes, I MADE it!! Used coconut oil - coconut extract - coconut flakes in the batter and the icing...Toasted coconut and almonds with dark choc. drizzled on top..    

Catfish Fry - March 22nd 2013

Keith and Barry waiting for the oil to be up to temp.  We used our portable induction cook tops outside. They are wonderful and worked just fine in the WIND.. You couldn't do this with any other type cook method.

8 of us enjoyed the FEAST.. Barry and Donna who provided the catfish and other delicious goodies.  Gene and Nell, Brian and Helene...and Keith and I.   Boy was this a feast!..So good!  Thanks everyone for everything you brought to share.

Thanks Nell, for being such a great partner!  We sure had a good time...especially when we realized we won Gold!!!

We're good for another month!

44 years ago we said "I DO" - Sat. Jan. 18th 1969 - 2:00 P.M. at St. Luke's Church, Reading Pa.

We had a wonderfully, delicious lunch outside under the trees at the German Bakery in Yalaha Florida  ...mmmmmm

GREAT NEWS FOR KEITH!!!

This morning we left the house at 7 a.m...it was snowing/raining. Keith's appt. was at 8... We saw the Doc. at 8:15 and instead of having a chemo treatment we were walking out the door at 9!!! Keith's levels have remained low and so the doc. says NO MORE CHEMO...just have to have blood work done once a month to check the numbers.   Doc. said to keep doing what he's doing...so we will continue to take ALL the supplements, eat healthy, get plenty of exercise, cut out as much sugar as possible as cancer feed on sugar.   Keith also goes to the chiropractor 4 days a week...this has proved to help his circulation very much...also keeps the shingles from bothering his tongue/chin. 
This break will give his body a chance to recover from all the chemo...

An Early Christmas Celebration

 Di and John at our house on Wed. night...  Steve was resting on the sofa....boy guy didn't feel well.:(

Brad and Vivien will be on their way to TN on Sat...to be with her family for Christmas.  We had a great time exchanging gifts after eating a TOGETHER MEAL at our dining room table. 

Here's my BIG HELPER; We decorated and made cookies...  I LOVE YOU JOHN, WITH ALL MY HEART.   

Great News..  Keith's cancer marker blood work went from 9.5 in Sept. to 4.2 in Oct. to
0.70 on Nov. 20th...   This is the best gift we could receive!    We see the oncologist next week and hopefully Keith will go 3 weeks between treatments or even 4!!!

Great News today!!!

I know it's been a long time since I've up-dated the blog...But here's the best news...
Today Keith had a colonoscopy and the results were GREAT...he's clean and the doc. says he doesn't have to have another one for 2 years! Keith is SO relieved....me too.
So, now we have 10 days before we head out to Chesapeake, Oct. 3rd. It's been so long since we've been in the RV, and there's so much to get prepared...but we're going to do our best to get it all done!
By Nov. 1st we'll pull into Peace River Florida....Hopefully, we'll see lots of you RVers who we've missed so much.
